IHS is the largest information company in the world, with its headquarters location in Englewood, CO. IHS is a re-publisher of public information (except for exclusive contracts with industry standards bodies). All information is re-invented in various forms: hardcopy, CD-ROM, internet, intranet, and extranet, and sold on a subscription basis to both the federal government and private businesses worldwide.

Marketing department, marketing manager — As marketing manager, Miki Tolle was responsible for designing, developing, and executing all marketing activities for the three product lines/solutions assigned: industry standards, telecommunications, and petrochemical markets. She worked with the internal creative-services team, outside graphic designers, and ad and public-relations agencies to design, develop, write, and deploy each market place brochure, collateral, specifications sheets (generally requiring limited HTML for online posting), public-relations announcements, direct-mail pieces, and advertising. Miki Tolle was also responsible for product naming, trademark, registration, and logo development. She played a key role in working with product management to develop and strategically align collateral, user guides, campaigns, promotions, and tradeshows for their specific target marketplaces. In addition, Tolle managed the tradeshow schedule, theme, and campaign, as well as attended various industry shows.

IHS Communications Products business unit (IHS Regulatory Products)

IHS Communications Products provided the lawyers and the legal community, communications professionals, and television, radio and all other communications related personnel with telecommunications, video and wireless standards and telecommunications related laws, regulations, code of federal regulations, federal register and FCC communications related information, forms, and etc., to perform, conform, comply  and otherwise perform their job responsibilities.

Marketing manager — Miki Tolle was charged with the design, development, management, and execution of the company's strategic- and tactical-marketing activities while providing direct supervision over two employees. This position provided for an integral role in the company's new product launches (14 total; CD-ROM and internet applications), press releases, and subsequent product releases and versions.  Miki Tolle also served as a key member of the team in helping assess and design the division's web site and the communications-law internet application. She analyzed prospects and customers and market drivers and trends to make recommendations regarding selling, advertising, promotion, and product strategies.

Miki Tolle worked on product naming, trademark, registration, and logo programs and assessed, wrote, and delivered all documentation, reports, analysis, and cost accounting for marketing projects and events. She evaluated and effectively communicated customer- and product-value propositions in collateral, advertising, and the online presence.  Tolle designed, developed, wrote, and produced some of the sales tools and collateral materials internally, but also worked with an outside agency and independent graphic designers on other materials. Tolle supervised the process to develop a tradeshow schedule, with themes, signage, direct mail, collateral materials, advertising and public relations. She attended and worked several trade shows; and worked with product development and technical teams to research selling and marketing strategies. In this position, Tolle also worked with technical teams to develop CD-ROM and online product demos and promotions. In support of these projects, she performed analysis on collected data in order to synthesize information to provide useful marketing solutions, conclusions, and directional recommendations. Tolle also tracked and measured the effectiveness of the marketing activities.  Managed the leads management process and made recommendations for improvements and enhancements.     

IHS Engineering Division customer-service department

Customer analyst — Miki Tolle provided product and technical support to all engineering customers for product lines and services including but not limited to: military specifications and standards, industry standards, government services administration fees and schedules, vendor, integrated circuits and semi-conductors, nuclear regulatory specifications and forms, federal personnel manuals (rules and regulations), and NASA, OSHA, EPA, GSA, REA, and Code of Federal Regulations. Tolle also provided writing, editing, and consulting on various product-line user guides and technical documentation. Tolle penned the IHS version of 'twas the night before Christmas poem that was published in the company's employee newsletter.

Editor — Miki Tolle provided company-wide design, development, standardization, writing, editing, proofing, and deployment of company-wide forms, templates, processes, quotes, renewals, contracts, and various other document management and execution activities. She was responsible for the compliance, design, accuracy, and production of all documents processed by the department. Tolle edited and proofread all documents and supervised and worked with the operators to ensure that all documents completed were in compliance with all company and department requests, style guides, and legal requirements.
